Vibe Code Or Cry Tryin'
Let's talk about the biggest vibe-code lever you can pull
Howdy Partners! Twas' a fun week in content production Two things are in main focus for me right now (and should be for you, too)
- Vibe PLANNING
- Vibe DESIGNING
Why is that the case? When you look at tools like Replit, v0 dev, lovable, etc - you need to ask yourself:
"What is their competitive advantage?" Meaning, what makes those tools stand out (for a beginner at least) when it comes to coding something?
There's a few answers to that question, but the biggest of them is this:
Vibe Planning
They excel at planning. When you go to Replit and say "build me an app that solves world hunger"
It goes out and builds a PLAN Then it executes through that plan
That's why I had so much fun in my Vibe Planning with Manus AI video here: youtube.com/watch?v=kAy-mjcAoXs
Because we can start building our own systems and prompts for planning out our apps.
And in a way what that really means is that we can get closer and closer to a "Replit-Like" experience, while still sticking to proper AI-IDEs like Cursor or Claude
Vibe Designing
Another huge annoyance with those tools is that their UIs usually turn out to look like a steamy pile o' poop.
But Sean… doesn't everybody poop? Yes… But we don't want our UIs to turn out that way! Why?
Professional designs impart authority. A design that looks like it was built by a professional will send a subconscious signal to the user that this is a special app. The janky UX you've experienced on an app before you deleted it forever? That's what we want to AVOID.
And my second video here helps with that: youtube.com/watch?v=Ev72hJv4j_o
In about 10 minutes, we can create some really awesome looking app screens using nothing but a vanilla React project & Claude 3.7
The REAL VALUE comes when we can combine these two systems together to create beautiful Full Stack mobile apps (or web apps) & easily deploy them.
Shameless plug for my future videos this month that will cover exactly that!
Last little note here:
If you want any of the templates I use in those videos, you can grab them for free inside the Skool community here: skool.com/tech-snack
That's it for this short little update… I'm working on cooking up some really awesome videos to take this stuff to the next level… so stay tuned!
